Board of Directors - 2009/2010 School Year

The officers of the Morgan State Financial Management Association (President, Vice-President, Secretary, V.P. of Finance e.t.c.) constitute the Board of Directors (or E-Board). The Board of Directors is responsible for governing the organization.


Tristin Ewell- President

 The Finance Club president is the chief executive officer of the organization. Specific responsibilities include:
• Serving as a liaison between the organization and faculty advisor.

• Appointing committee chairpersons and calling for the resignation of ineffective chairpersons (with majority approval of the chapter’s Board of Directors).
• Establishing organization's objectives for the year and coordinating specific goals and programs.
• Analyzing the extent to which the needs of the organization members are being served and keeping accurate records of these needs for future Board of Directors.
• Working with the organization Treasurer to prepare the annual budget.
• Working with the organization's marketing committee to ensure a healthy membership.
• Effectively communicating all past activities, organization objectives, and organization needs to the president-elect.



Ebenezer Williams- Vice-President

The vice president is the primary assistant to the president. Specific responsibilities may include:
• Assumption of the duties of the president in his/her absence
• Working with the President to acquire speakers and plan functions centered around the speakers' areas of expertise.
• Coordinating and directing the activities of committees.



Vacant- V.P. of Finance

The treasurer is responsible for receiving and disbursing funds and managing the financial affairs of the organization. Specific responsibilities include:
• Reporting to the organization’s Board of Directors on all matters regarding the financial status of the organization.

• Maintaining accurate records of membership dues.

• Securing signature cards and all necessary papers for opening (or maintaining) the organization’s bank account.
• Preparing a tentative budget for presentation to the organization’s Board of Directors.
• Preparing an annual and bi-annual financial statement for presentation to the organization’s Board of Directors.


Vacant- Secretary

The secretary conducts all correspondence with organization members. Specific responsibilities may include:
• Preparing and maintaining the minutes of all meetings.
• Arranging for the distribution of announcements to organization members, the board of directors, faculty, and business contacts.
• Conducting the Finance Club elections.
• Attending all organization meetings.
• Recording attendance at all meetings.


Afonja Kunle- V.P. of Marketing and P.R.

The VP of Marketing and Public Relations makes sure the Finance Club is visible in the Morgan State community especially in the School of Business. Specific responsibilities include:
- Plan advertising material for Finance Club events
- Reach out to professors and faculty to advertise Finance Club events
- Ensure that the target audience is reached for the activities of the Finance Club
- Coordinate the posting of marketing material for the Finance Club.



Linnet Gitaari- V.P. of Membership

The VP of Membership is in charge of recruiting efforts for the Finance Club and keeping up to date information of the membership base. Specific responsibilities include:
- Plan efforts for the Finance Club to build and retain its membership base
- Organize membership drives
- Work with the secretary to keep an accurate account of current numbers of paid and active members.
