Board of Directors - 2010/2011 School Year
The officers of the Morgan State Financial Management Association (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer e.t.c.) constitute the Board of Directors (or E-Board). The Board of Directors is responsible for governing the organization.
David Okuwobi-President
The Finance Club President's main
responsibilities include:
-Serving
as a liaison between the organization and faculty advisors.
- Establishing organization's
objectives for the year and coordinating specific goals and programs.
-Coordinating
the different organizational functions to maintain consistency and
ensure results.
- Analyzing
the extent to which the needs of the organization members are being
served and keeping accurate records of these needs for future chapter
officials.
-Appointing committee chairpersons and calling for the
resignation of ineffective chairpersons (with majority
approval of
the chapter’s Board of Directors).
-Working with the chapter
Treasurer to prepare the annual budget.
-Working with the chapter's
marketing committee to ensure a healthy membership.
Francis Obua Jr.-Treasurer
- Updating the advisors and E-Board members regarding the financial status of the club.
- Maintaining accurate records of paid membership dues.
- Securing signature cards and all necessary documentation for maintaining the chapter’s bank account.
- Preparing a budget forecast and reconciling it as the account balance changes during the term.
- Preparing an annual and semi-annual financial statement for presentation to the organization’s Board of Directors.
Jayde Maddox-Harris- Secretary
- Preparing and maintaining the minutes of all meetings.
- Maintaining business relationships with faculty and guest speakers.
- Recording attendance at all meetings.
-Regularly update chapter website.
-Conducting the chapter elections.
-Submitting the paperwork necessary to obtain the Superior Chapter designation.
-Arranging for the distribution of announcements to chapter members, the board of directors, faculty, and business contacts.
Nathaniel Moseley- Director of External Relations
The Director of Marketing develops the club's visibility in the Morgan State community especially in the School of Business. Specific responsibilities include:
-Chairs a committee of members who promote membership in the chapter and inform students of upcoming
activities.
- Plan advertising material for chapter events
- Reach out to professors and faculty to assist with promoting upcoming events- Coordinate the distribution of marketing material for the chapter.
Tayana Harrison- Director of Membership
The Director of Membership is in charge of recruiting efforts for the Finance Club and keeping up to date information of the membership base. Specific responsibilities include:
-Chairs a committee of members who promote membership in the chapter and inform students of upcoming
activities.
- Plan efforts for the Finance Club to build and retain its membership base
- Organize membership drives
- Work with the secretary to keep an accurate account of current numbers of paid and active members.
Godlove Ntam-Director of Member Involvement
Esther Opoku- Director of Hospitality
-Maintaining a welcoming meeting room to enhance guest speaker and chapter members satisfaction.
Moses Baeta-Chapter Historian
- Creating/maintaining a database of speakers and other chapter supporters (including alumni).
- Keeping samples of marketing materials for guest speakers, luncheons etc.
