Goldman Sachs Scholarship for Excellence
The Goldman Sachs Scholarship for Excellence Program is an
integral part of our diversity recruiting effort, helping to attract Black,
Latino, and Native American undergraduate students to careers
at Goldman Sachs. The Scholarship is a reflection of our Business
Principles and is awarded to recognize outstanding students and the
achievements they have made.
About the Scholarship
• Recipients of the scholarship who are in
their sophomore year will receive a $5,000
award and those in their junior year will
receive a $10,000 award toward tuition
and academic expenses for one year.
• Scholarship recipients also receive an offer
for a paid Goldman Sachs summer internship.
• Applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA to be
considered for the Scholarship for Excellence.
Application Checklist
To be considered for the Scholarship for
Excellence, you must submit the following
information by Sunday, December 12, 2010:
1. Complete an online application at
gs.com/careers. Enter job code SFE11
in the “Positions Preference” section
of the online application.
2. Please write one essay (500 words maximum)
in response to one of the following topics:
a. Why are you interested in the financial
services industry?
b. Describe how you have demonstrated
team-orientated leadership through
your involvement with a campus-based
or community-based organization.
Paste your essay in the “Cover Letter”
section of the online application.
3. Mail your official transcript by Sunday,
December 12, 2010 to:

If you attend an undergraduate school where
Goldman Sachs interviews on-campus, you
must also apply through your school’s career
